The Los Angeles Lakers entered the offseason prepared to build a roster that would ensure a big comeback next season. After their disappointing premature exit this year, they were at the center of plenty of criticism, especially LeBron James. But say what you will, if this offseason has shown us anything, NBA players around the league would do anything to play alongside a superstar like him. This is also something former NBA player turned analyst Antonio Daniels has noticed.

On SiriusXM NBA Radio, he stated, “This is a testament to LeBron James in my opinion. I am sitting here yesterday and thinking golly! A week ago, we were talking about the Lakers and the fact that they didn’t have money to sign this, and didn’t have money to sign that. I just didn’t know how they were going to get this done. They don’t have a lot of money.”
“Every time this thing goes off, the Lakers are signing somebody else. How are they getting this done? This is a testament to guys wanting to play alongside star power. They’ve seen LeBron, they’ve looked up to LeBron. They’ve watched him win, watched him lose. But they have watched him be competitive year after year. And guys want to step in and be a part of that.”

Keeping Talen Horton-Tucker, Kendrick Nunn, and Malik Monk will add a young touch to the roster. Then, with Carmelo Anthony, Wayne Ellington, and Trevor Ariza, comes some shooting and veteran experience.
And of course, let’s not forget the blockbuster trade that brought Russell Westbrook to join forces with LeBron and Anthony Davis. This is the ‘Big Three’ people will be looking forward to wreaking havoc next season.
The only question is if it will live up to its hype or will it be another failed attempt at creating a super team?
