Former NBA legend Dwyane Wade was arguably one of the best players to ever play in the league. His flashy speed and quickness, combined with his explosiveness, was a nightmare for opponents. During his long and illustrious career, Wade won three NBA championships and one Finals MVP. His 2006 title run with the Miami Heat is widely regarded as one of the best individual Finals performances ever.

Recently, former NBA champion JR Smith was in attendance with former All-Star Gilbert Arenas on the ‘No Chill with Gilbert Arenas‘ podcast. During the chat, they were discussing players that they struggled to guard. And JR was listing some of the players he struggled against like Reggie Miller, Kobe Bryant, etc. Then when he talked about Dwyane Wade, Arenas had something to tell.

Agent Zero revealed that Wade is the sole reason he stopped trash-talking to players. He said, ?This is why I stopped f***ing with players.?

Dwyane Wade took it personally

He disclosed an incident when an interviewer asked him about the Flash coming to town. Arenas said, “They were talking about D-Wade coming to town. And I was like, ‘We will just guard him like they did in the Olympics… You can’t shoot.’ And then I watched like the game before, and I was like ‘Oh!'”?

Arenas said then he called Wade and said, “‘Hey man look, the media they messed that up man.’ I’m trying to soften this blow bro.”?

However, the Washington Wizards star was sure D-Wade didn’t accept his apology. A shocked JR couldn’t believe Arenas really called and apologized. Agent Zero explained that Wade was on a scoring rampage and was in his stride. Therefore, he had to reach out to him and apologize for his comments.

Then during the game, Arenas had to get an earful from teammate Larry Hughes. He said that Hughes said not to talk trash about players he won’t have to guard because Hughes was having a torrid time guarding Wade.

However, Gilbert Arenas would get a slice of Dwyane Wade’s explosiveness when Hughes got into foul trouble. He said, “Man that man gave me 16 quick ones. No jump shot. Didn’t even think about it. Spin, dunk…” It’s safe to say the Flash likely did take it personally.
