The Los Angeles Lakers are once again the most talked about team in the NBA. In just a matter of three games, they are back in the same place as last season with the same problems. Their longest prevailing hurdle remains to be fitting in Russell Westbrook on the roster. After a respectful start, the former MVP has back-to-back disappointing performances. And a former NBA star believes he needs to figure it out before LeBron James and the Lakers show him the door.

In his time, Kwame Brown had become one of the most criticized players in the league. Regarded as one of the most disappointing number-one overall pick, the former Washington Wizards man was never able to match the expectations on him.

After being pushed around the league, the 40-year-old now takes on hot topics around the basketball world. And he recently weighed in on the Russell Westbrook saga. What looked more of a warning for time to Brodie, Brown sees the Lakers desperate to ship him away.

LeBron James and Lakers ready to move on from Russell Westbrook?

After his difficult run in the NBA, Brown made it his duty to speak the truth from the player’s point of view. A career behind the camera has put him back on the NBA map, and this time it was his turn to assess the Los Angeles Lakers. According to the former number one overall pick, Westbrook has the talent and skills to fit into the prestigious purple and gold. However, Brown also believes he doesn’t have much time as the Lakers might be looking for a replacement soon.

Kwame Brown said: “Russ is definitely good enough to figure it out. But will he figure it out before they put his a** out? The Lakers are done.”

The warning might seem stern and upfront. However, the debacle has called for such measures. Russell Westbrook is unarguably one of the most unique point guards to play the game. An explosive freak of nature, Brodie was nearly unstoppable in his prime.

However, time gets to everyone. And it seems Westbrook has come to terms with the reality. Failing to alter his game, his stretch of poor production turns out to be the Lakers’ worst nightmare.

The purple and gold have surely looked better on the defensive end as compared to last season. However, their calling for shooters around LeBron James is still loud. Even this early into the season, their 21% shooting looks to be the biggest problem.
