JaVale McGee has enjoyed a great spell in the league over the last few seasons. The 32-year-old has won 3 NBA titles in his career, and his most recent triumph came with the LA Lakers last season. However, the Lakers traded him to Cleveland in the 2020 offseason.

In his first few games as a Cavalier, McGee has displayed his caliber, averaging 10.5 points along with 7.7 rebounds per game. But it all went down the drain when McGee airballed a close shot against the Hawks.

As expected, a section of NBA fans trolled McGee following the horrendous miss. While McGee is known for responding calmly, he gave a fitting reply to social media trolls this time.

The thing about social media is its not real! You have to remember that when reading. You airball a shot it will get a million rts… but u make an amazing offensive move and win the game… NOT SO MUCH… remember your worth and never let social media determine how you c urself!”

As McGee mentioned, sometimes fans go a little overboard while criticizing players. In that process, they forget to appreciate players for their good games.

Hopefully, this message from JaVale McGee will act as a wake up call for everyone. NBA players are human as well, and they deserve to be treated with respect.

What’s next for JaVale McGee and the Cleveland Cavaliers?

With McGee joining Andre Drummond, the Cavaliers have one of the best frontcourt pairs in the league. Furthermore, they have had a blazing start to the 2020-21 NBA season, winning 4 out of their 6 games.

The young pair of Collin Sexton and Darius Garland are developing into a lethal combo for the Cavs. However, as far as the expectations go, they are definitely a few years away from becoming legitimate title contenders.

For now, if they can make the playoffs in a tough Eastern Conference this year, it will be considered a good season for the team.
