The Dallas Mavericks have found a rhythm and are on a four-game winning streak at the moment. While the entire team should be credited for stepping up, Luka Doncic deserves special praise for everything he’s been doing this season. Former Maverick Dennis Scott feels the same way too!
Doncic was regarded as a special talent ever since his rookie season in the NBA. He averaged 21.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 6.0 assists in the 2018/19 season and the numbers have only increased over the years.
As for the current season, Luka Doncic is the fifth top scorer in the NBA. He averages 28.6 PPG and has particularly been impressive in the last few games.

“We always talk about our great players in our league. They make everyone better around them. That’s why he’s come into the league in the short couple of years and has become special,” Scott hailed Doncic recently.
“There’s no way you give someone of that caliber two or three drills to get to the paint without collapsing and getting the ball out of his hands,” he added.
Dennis Scott has insight for Rick Carlisle to make Luka Doncic even better
The Mavericks were touted to dominate the Western Conference before the start of the season, but they were quite slow to get off the block. However, Doncic is someone who also makes his teammates thrive along with his growth.
“So it’s one of these things now, his teammates, understand him. When they move well, he sees you, you get open shots,” Scott said about Doncic’s selfless ability.
“So now it’s about Rick Carlisle getting his team to play half-court defense we know they can play,” he mentioned.
