Safe to say the Philadelphia 76ers had one of the best trade seasons this time around. The team got long-term target James Harden to partner with MVP candidate Joel Embiid. Despite having played only a couple of matches, the duo is already starting to click.

After the 76ers got the better of the New York Knicks, a former Bulls star had a lot to say. According to him, Shaquille O’Neal would have a hard time trying to guard Embiid. Speaking on a talk show, Jay Williams talked about Joel Embiid. According to him, Shaq would have fits trying to guard the 76ers superstar.

 

Jay Williams disrespects Shaquille O’Neal in a massive hot take

Despite playing in two different teams and two different eras, Joel Embiid and Shaquille O’Neal have more in common than you think. Both Joel and Shaq are known for the physicality in the game and dominating alongside their partners, James Harden and Kobe Bryant, respectively.

Talking in a show on ESPN, former Chicago Bulls player Jay Williams talked about Embiid. According to him, “ Joel Embiid is on his way to be the first center since Shaq, to lead the NBA in scoring… I think Shaq would have fits trying to guard him, he wouldn’t be able to guard him.”

While a match-up between the two may never happen, the fans will certainly want to see a prime Shaquille O’Neal against ‘The Process’ Joel Embiid. Embiid currently is the frontrunner to win the MVP award and averages 29.8 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 4.4 assists.

The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the top teams in the NBA currently. Moreover, thanks to the superstar pairing of Joel Embiid and James Harden, the team is looking better than ever. With their amazing chemistry on the court, the duo of Harden and Embiid have been compared to the likes of Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant.

Talking about the comparisons, MVP front runner Embiid said, “I’m Joel Embiid. I don’t play the way Shaq did, you know, dominant in other ways. I’m not physically dominant like he was. You know, he was a freakin monster when he played obviously Hall of Famer and one of the best ever.”

The 76ers are currently 3rd in the Easters Conference and are looking comfortable for a playoff spot. Led by the duo of Embiid and Harden, the front office and fans expect great things from the team as they chase their 4th NBA title.
