The face of the league is always a debatable matter. With so many greats like LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant as well as youngsters like Ja Morant, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic, it is quite hard to choose one. However, the Bulls rookie, Jay Williams, decided to pick one on the latest episode of ‘The Friday Night Podcast’. He chose a Memphis Grizzlies’ superstar and further backed his answer.

Jay Williams, an ESPN analyst and former Bulls rookie, joined the podcast accompanied by former NFL stars Ryan Clark and Channing Crowder. Amidst the chat, Clark stated how he got impressed with the gameplay of Ja Morant against the Pelicans.
He asked Williams whether he thinks Morant has the ability to be the ‘face of the league.’ Williams instantaneously replied that he considers Morant as the current face of the league, which startled Clark and Crowder a little.

Jay Williams, after opinionating, expressed a few points regarding his claims. He started off by saying Morant fully represents the culture of the country. Further stating how he carries the uniform of the Grizzlies proudly. He added how even playing for a less popular club like the Grizzlies he was owning the city of Memphis. His words brought out his admiration for the Grizzlies superstar. Furthermore, he said he knew the contributions of the players like Curry and James in the league, but found something unique in the Grizzlies’ point guard. Thereafter, Crowder countered him by claiming LeBron James was still the face of the NBA. However, Williams stood still on his point, saying that James was no doubt one of the faces, but there was something else in Morant.

The Bulls rookie compared him with a common man. He described how Morant could do all the insane plays on the field despite being built like a common man. Williams finished off by saying, “Ja seems like the common everyday folk that skying in the air doing all. There’s a Michael Jordan-esque to him.” His words were pretty self-explanatory and described his take on the ‘face of the league’. The candid video of all the former athletes clearly showered how much they admired and appreciated the Memphis Grizzlies superstar.
