During a semi-transition drive to the basket, Michael Jordan switched the ball from his right hand to his left hand, mid-air, and nailed a smooth layup instead of a monstrous slam. The magical play captivated the Chicago Bulls crowd and exemplified sheer athleticism. Everyone’s jaws dropped when they saw a human hover in mid-air for such an extended amount of time. But that’s what Jordan did whenever he took flight.

Everything was there. The pure athleticism required to remain airborne for that long, coupled with the incredible artistry required to kiss the layup off the backboard. The play, popularly known as “The Move,” is universally perceived as one of the greatest ever seen on an NBA floor. Nick Wright, however, holds a quite differing opinion.

Nick Wright described the dazzling play by Michael Jordan as basic

While many would describe Jordan’s play as pure elegance, Nick Wright characterized it as basic. The Fox Sports NBA analyst is renowned for his hot takes, and this one will undoubtedly be added to his portfolio.

Wright initially foreshadowed his fiery stance with a tweet. He then added to the entire controversial opinion on the most recent episode of his show “What’s Wright?”?

“It has been absolutely forced down our throats for 30 years as if this is one of the greatest moments in NBA history.?It flatly is not,”?Nick said.

“Jordan might be the greatest player ever. I don’t think he is, but obviously, there is a strong case to be made for him. But that doesn’t mean we have to mythologize everything about him… Throughout NBA history there are these amazing feats of athleticism and then a couple basic a** Jordan plays.”?
