In the latest episode of ‘NBA on TNT’ Tuesday post-game show, James gave a big update about his future to Shaq. During the show, the Big Diesel congratulated and asked LeBron James whether he was thinking of playing for a couple more years to push the all-time record so far that nobody could break it. In reply, the 19x All-Star said, “I know I can play a couple more years. The way my body’s been reacting to me throughout this course of the season, I know I could play a couple more years.”
Moreover, James added, “It’s all about my mind. If my mind is still intuitive, I’m still motivated to go out and try to compete for championships because I feel like that’s what I can still do for any group of guys, any franchise. I can go out there and still help win multiple championships or a championship. So that’s my mindset.”
The 38-year-old continued, “If my mind is sharp and I feel motivated to go out and prepare myself every single day then, you’re not gonna continue to play this game.”

In other words, the four-time champion was not thinking of calling it a career. Instead, he was looking forward to satisfying his insatiable hunger for winning by winning championships in the near future.
James could reach 40,000 points in the next few years
James is currently the all-time leading scorer with 38,390. As James made it clear that he was not looking forward to calling it a career, he could certainly become the first player ever to reach 40,000 points in a couple more years. By far, the 38-year-old has played 1409 games and averaged 27.2 points per game. If he continues scoring like this, the four-time champion would need at least 60 games to achieve that feat. Therefore, if King James remains fit, then certainly it would not be a difficult task for him.
