The Los Angeles Lakers received some shocking news for LeBron James a few days back. The ‘King’ entered the health and safety protocol of the league. This came as a big surprise to the league as well the Lakers.

However, James is now cleared to return after further evaluation. On the other hand, it seems the worries are not over for the Lakers as more player are facing injury troubles now.

The purple and gold have had a questionable start to the season. With the new ‘Big 3’ struggling, it seemed like things won’t work out. Nevertheless, they are slowly building chemistry and are now looking good on the floor.

The main issue, however, is that they haven’t spent a lot of time on the court because of injury concerns: especially LeBron, who has missed ten games of the season already so far.

Lakers continue to face injury problems

The Lakers are set to matchup against city rivals, Los Angeles Clippers. Despite no Kawhi Leonard, the Clippers have done a great job of staying in contention. The main reason is Paul George playing at an MVP caliber in his co-star’s absence.

However, the Lakers could once again be shorthanded as Davis’ thumb sprain continues to hinder him.

Davis has been dealing with the thumb injury for a while. However, he has been able to power through it all and play for the team. But it seems that with the return of LeBron, the purple and gold will not take any chances. They have placed Davis as questionable for the matchup against the Clippers with a left thumb sprain.

While there is good news with the return of the ‘King’, the Laker nation can’t seem to escape injury. Big stars continue to miss time from the season. This, in turn, has affected the Laker nation, as they are just above .500 for the season.

Their new players have barely shared the floor with each other and that is evident in their performances.

However, they have picked things up well recently. This is especially true for Russell Westbrook, who has been playing really well in his recent games. Now, the purple and gold will most likely have the duo of Brodie and the ‘King’ in the important upcoming game.
