Rodman was having a great time after winning two straight titles with the Detroit Pistons. However, the Chicago Bulls then took over, and the Pistons were no longer the best team in the West. So the Pistons decided to make some changes to the team and parted ways with head coach Chuck Daly who was like a father to Rodman.
With all the changes happening around him, Rodman felt helpless and started getting “rebellious” reportedly. The Pistons also traded him to the San Antonio Spurs. After two seasons with the Spurs, he joined rivals Bulls when Michael Jordan came back from retirement.

Dennis Rodman became the defensive anchor of the Bulls alongside Jordan and Scottie Pippen. The Bulls knew Rodman would be erratic off the court but they also knew he would do his job whenever called upon. In the end, Rodman became a free agent, and he signed with the Lakers for the league minimum. Had he returned his agent’s calls, he could have earned $7 million. Rodman’s highest salary was $9 million with the Bulls for the 1996-97 season reportedly.
Sadly, his time with the Lakers was short as well as he only played 23 games for the Purple and Gold team. As per reports, Rodman was late almost all the time and did not adhere to the coach’s instructions. So the Lakers decided to let him go. He then joined the Dallas Mavericks where he played just 12 games.
