The NBA award week has been exciting this season as new faces continue to receive the honor they deserve. Following the Sacramento Kings’ win for the ‘Coach of the Year’ and ‘Clutch Player of the Year’, the NBA announced the ‘Sixth Man of the Year’, which has put smiles on Celtics fans’ faces. In addition to the huge win in his very first year with the team, the Celtics guard shared a wholesome moment with a former basketball veteran on the Inside the NBA?show.
Jamal Crawford who has received the honors three times previously during his career made sure he took time to credit the 30-year-old on a “well-deserved” win as Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley enjoyed the eye-pleasing moment.

Averaging nearly 15 points and 4.2 rebounds off the bench, Malcolm Brogdon is one of the key pieces for the Boston Celtics‘ championship run this year. Alongside offensive domination from Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, Brogdon has shown out when the starters rest on the bench. Shooting almost 50% from the field, Brogdon’s addition has clearly given Celtics an edge over the other team.?
Initially, fans were skeptical about the Celtics trading five players and a first-round pick for the 6’5 guard. However, it seems like the franchise has benefitted from the trade move. In his first year for the team, following his excellence in the regular season, Brogdon has made an impact in the playoffs too against the Atlanta Hawks with some crucial buckets.?
Apart from giving the honor of the ‘Sixth Man of the Year’ award, the NBA made sure it was special for Brogdon. The ‘Inside the NBA’ team hosted Brogdon was joined by Crawford, who did the honors for the veteran guard. The 43-year-old himself had won the 6th Man of the Year twice with Los Angeles Clippers in 2014 and 2016 and once with Atlanta Hawks in 2010.?

How are the Celtics different with Malcolm Brogdon in the team?

After their disappointing loss in the finals to the Golden State Warriors last year, the Celtics made sure they added a crucial bench player to the team. Standing at the top in the Eastern Conference, they have benefitted from the Brogdon trade. Two games away from sweeping the Atlanta Hawks, the chances of the Celtics doing it all this year is high.?

Moreover, the Celtics have a highly balanced team with strong athletes in all departments. Tatum and Brown as stars on the offense, Smart and Co. continue to contribute on the defensive end.
