Five months ago Shaq, partnered with his fierce competitor in a $20 million noble project with the objective of ‘saving a life’. Recently, the Big Man made another generous contribution to the Boys & Girls Club, adding another feather to his cap.

The 51-year-old is a kind and generous man who always looks out for others. Over a period of time, Shaq has developed himself into a great businessman. He has stacked up opportunities and ventures under his name and with his influence and appeal, he has been able to succeed in almost everything. With big money, the 7’1 giant delivers big gifts in terms of donations and social work. The Boys & Girls Club of Henry County was renamed after him in 2022 after a staggering $1 million donation from the man himself for a new building. Recently, the Shaquille O’Neal Boys and Girls Club of Henry County unveiled its Comebaq Court.

Shaq announced the major upgrade on his Instagram. Posting a picture of himself while posing on the court, he wrote: “The Shaquille O’Neal Boys & Girls Club of Henry County just got even cooler.” He added that he partnered with Icy Hot for the “fourth and newest Comebaq Court to the Atlanta area”. The NBA legend also added that this is the largest facility upgrade by his team to date. The facility upgrade wasn’t the only gift for the kids as everyone also walked away with a brand-new MacBook. The new training facility is not just intended for basketball practice. It is also made for activities such as tennis practice and pickleball.

Shaquille O’Neal’s philanthropic work helped him squash a long-standing beef

At the beginning of their careers, Shaq and Alonzo Mourning were arch-enemies. The two never saw eye to eye until 2005 when they became teammates. Years later, the two Hall of Famers came together to help the community of South Florida. The Shaquille O’Neal Foundation and Icy Hot funded the renovation of Comebaq Court in the Overtown Youth Center in Florida. The Youth Center was founded by Mourning. “It can definitely save a life. I always tell the young ballers, if you want to shoot something, shoot a ball,” Shaq had said about his intention behind the work he is doing.
