The Golden State Warriors made some changes to their roster before the trade deadline in February. The team parted ways with the second overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft, James Wiseman. After witnessing his performances with the Detroit Pistons, the Warriors faced a lot of backlash. However, the Warriors got a familiar face in return from the Portland Trail Blazers. That trade almost turned sour as Gary Payton II arrived in Golden State injured and was expected to miss out on substantial time on the court.
According to a new report by ESPN?s NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, Gary Payton II could be listed in the Warriors’ lineup for their game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday. Although, this has led to fans speculating whether the Warriors’ training staff may be rushing things.

An earlier report had suggested that Gary Payton II will be missing out on two to three months of time. Payton came to Golden State with a right adductor strain. He has not played a game for the Warriors since he was acquired from Portland on February 12.
Now, this has led to a lot of fans speculating on whether the Warriors‘ training staff and the front office may be rushing things to bring him to the lineup. However, according to reports, Payton II was re-evaluated yesterday.
And he has shown tremendous progress in his rehabilitation. The 6?3 guard has intensified his on-court workouts with the team in the past week. This has also led to him participating in the team practice on Saturday, prior to the game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
