Kevin Durant received a lot of criticism for leaving the Golden State Warriors in 2019. The 12-time All-Star won two championships alongside Stephen Curry and the Warriors. In fact, the Dubs had a shot at a three-peat when Durant got injured and missed out on the 2019-20 season. Surprisingly, KD decided to leave the Warriors and join the Brooklyn Nets during the offseason. The Nets guard later admitted that his altercation with his former Golden State teammate Draymond Green played a role in his decision.

Recently, Draymond Green made a big revelation during the latest episode of The Shop featuring LeBron James, Maverick Carter, Lisa Leslie, P.J. Tucker, and Paul Rivera. The four-time NBA champ revealed that he invited Kevin Durant to his wedding years after their on-court altercation during the 2018-19 season. However, Durant ended up skipping Green’s big day despite making a bold claim.

Draymond Green shared that he invited Kevin Durant to his wedding. The way Durant sold it to him, Green was sure the Nets guard would show up. The four-time All-Star said, “He told me he was gonna come in there and find him a girl.”

Green was ready to show KD a good time at his wedding. However, Durant never showed up at the ceremony eventually.

Kevin Durant and Draymond Green beef

Green and Durant were teammates at the Golden State Warriors from 2016-19. They managed to win two back-to-back championships alongside Stephen Curry in 2017 and 2018. Durant also won the Finals MVP award on both occasions. However, things got tricky when Durant and Green were involved in an on-court argument in 2018. The Warriors started the season with an 11-2 record when they played against the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Clippers and the Warriors were tied at 106 when Green rebounded a shot missed by Lou Williams. Unfortunately, Draymond Green missed the shot while Durant asked him to pass the ball. The game went into overtime and the two ended up screaming at each other.

After the incident, Durant was unhappy with how coach Steve Kerr and the Warriors’ management handled the whole situation. Eventually, Durant moved to the Brooklyn Nets in 2019 and has been there since.
