Shaquille O’Neal is one of the greatest players in the NBA. He is also one of the richest to ever play. Shaq was a superstar since his debut and he was always one of the top paid players in the league. And he used to spend absurd amounts of money on the most ridiculous things. He once made a plan which was designed to keep the kids at his own house.

The Orlando Magic drafted Shaq number one overall in the 1992 NBA draft. After a couple of years at the Magic, Shaq decided to buy a house. And this was a huge house which was worth $3 million and it was over 25000 sq. ft.
Shaq would eventually go on to have a family there and have kids. He made a master plan which was done so that his kids wouldn’t leave that house.

Shaq was on his podcast where he was talking about his old house in Orlando. He said, “I have to thank my parents for that. I tell all kids, listen man, just make sure you always listen and respect your parents, and follow your dreams. So when I first bought it, it was 25000 ft, $3 million. I started having babies.”

“I am one of those parents that don’t really want them to be out. So playroom, theatre, chill-out room, dining room, Oh you want to play basketball, Gym, weight room. Like cars? 20 car garages.”
Shaq didn’t want his kids to go out of his house so he built everything they needed in his house itself. He said that he thought he was gonna be in Orlando forever and that’s one of the reasons he bought so a lavish house. But he had to go to LA and show his talents as a Laker, so he sold this house.
