On top of being one of the greatest players ever, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is a big fan of the game, and his love for basketball is reflected regularly in his performances on the hardwood. Not only basketball, but James also has some other passions. The four-time NBA champion is a big-time movie lover and his favorite film is the 1972 legendary crime drama, The Godfather. On social media, the 19x All-Star recently complimented the person who made his favorite movie on his special day.

The Godfather, based on Mario Puzo’s novel of the same name, is one of the greatest movies of all time. Legendary actors like Marlon Brando, Al-Pacino, and James Caan, among others, play pivotal roles in the film. The movie has received a plethora of positive feedback from movie buffs over the years. It was made on a budget of around $7 million and generated an insane amount of profits after hitting the screens on March 24, 1972.

James is an avid social media user and often shares posts on his Instagram surrounding him and his family. He recently shared a post in which the four-time NBA champion complimented the director of The Godfather, Francis Ford Coppola, on his birthday. The Lakers superstar shared the post with the caption, “LEGEND!!!”

The post contains three photos of Coppola: him posing for a photo with Brando, Coppola laughing while reading a newspaper along with Pacino in the background, and the legendary director posing for another photo in the midst of what appeared to be a set.

 

The legendary director turned 84 yesterday and received countless wishes from many across the cinema world. Incidentally, James didn’t only compliment the multi-award-winning director yesterday. He also helped his team to win an important game last night.

James’ performance against the Phoenix Suns

King James didn’t have the best of games and was certainly not the best player on the court last night. However, he contributed immensely to the team’s 121-107 win over the Phoenix Suns. The four-time NBA champion finished his game with 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. D’Angelo Russell and Austin Reaves dropped 24 and 22 points, respectively to lead the Lakers to an important victory.

However, the Lakers remained the 7th seed in the West. They have a chance of avoiding the Play-In depending on how they perform in their last game and other results in the league.
