Draymond Green really does have a reputation. A reputation of being rough and “dirty”. He has been on the receiving end of enough technical fouls to have that reputation. This season was no different either. Obviously the Warriors wouldn’t be too content after any such call against him, but there is another person “annoyed” by this more than anyone. And that is his fiancee Hazel Renee.

While walking on the red carpet of 2022 ESPY awards, Hazel expressed that she was not at all thrilled by the number of technical fouls racked up by Draymond Green in this past season.

Hazel Renee joked about Green’s technical fouls and fines being “money down the drain”. “There’s the wedding budget right there,” Renee said, referring to lost money in heavy fines that could’ve been used for the couple’s upcoming wedding. “If anyone wants to know where’s the wedding budget, it’s right there in text.”

For the first two technical fouls, players receive a $1,000 fine. This amount increases by $500 at different levels until capping at $2,500, per NBA.com. Flagrant fouls, meanwhile, usually pile up to a $15,000 fine. Draymond got 14 technicals last season alone. So one can imagine the amount of money Dray had to pay up to the NBA for his fouls.

Hazel Renee, look away, because Dray actually has a lot of fun while making headlines with his fouls. Dray has always accepted his reputation and has continued to play the way he does to help his team win no matter the consequences. Many times he has points to defend himself after making a foul or getting an unfair foul call. However, many times he just knows what he is doing. So Hazel may have to adjust with the “budget” because Dray enjoys his fouls. Jokes apart, the couple will either way have a wedding to remember and a celebration worthy for the couple’s love for each other.

Draymond doesn’t have a favorite technical foul. “They kind of start running together”, he said while admitting, “The one in Memphis, in the playoffs, I really enjoyed. I enjoyed that one a lot. So that was fun.” Green also explained that the NBA collects the money owed to them after players’ incidents in a flash. “They just pull it from you. You never see it. It’s just gone.”

Draymond Green is a modern day legend for the Warriors. Many might argue with this and might not consider him to be at that level. But solely based on what he has achieved with the Warriors earns him that respect and token of consideration from everyone. Many people might also doubt him for his abilities on the court. However, many times the star men, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson have emphasized on how important Dray is for the “Splash Bros”. Even Coach Steve Kerr has publicly credited Draymond Green as vital for his side. Having said all that, nobody can deny that Dray has a reputation. And he lives up to it.
