“Feels Like a Dream Come True”: LeBron James Shares Wholesome Update as Mom Gloria Celebrates a Noble Cause

Time and again, LeBron James has proved that he is very worthy of the name King James. Be it his dominance on the court or his philanthropic and inspirational work off it, LeBron fits every role perfectly. In fact, his family is also deeply committed to various social causes that they hold very close to their heart.

The family dedicates their time to doing various kinds of charity work for children and needy people. Recently, Gloria James celebrated a noble cause and LeBron joined her in sharing the news with the world.

LeBron James celebrates a major milestone for his family’s charity work

LeBron’s mother Gloria works for the betterment of people with the LeBron James Family Foundation. Over the years, their attention has been largely on LeBron’s hometown, Akron. There, the foundation has worked tirelessly to bring a change in the lives of children with several initiatives.

The LJF Foundation provides the kids with resources and the opportunity to develop an interest in any area of work that they want. Additionally, the focus is to ensure that all the kids get their basic education done before getting into anything else. The foundation runs a program called the I Promise Program under which all these facilities are availed by over 1500 children.

King James often refers to himself as the Kid From Akron and he has included that in the foundation’s motto as well. As a kid from Akron, his goal is to help as many kids from Akron as he can. While they continue to do a brilliant job of helping children, the family’s foundation is also growing.

Recently, Gloria announced that the LJF Foundation is branching out into building affordable housing as well. With the stamp of approval from the 4x NBA champion, the foundation’s first affordable complex was unveiled in Akron.

Gloria announced the big news on Instagram and she also penned a short note to mark the occasion.

She wrote, “This beautiful development feels like a dream come true and I’m so happy for our @ipromisechool families who will have a place to call home. 🙏🏾 Welcome home. 💗”

King James joined the celebration as well, by sharing the big news on his Instagram story. This initiative will also work under the I Promise program and the projects will be called the I Promise Housing apartment complexes.
