DeMar DeRozan has been lighting it up for the Chicago Bulls this season. The veteran star has been so impactful that the Bulls now sit among the top teams in the Eastern Conference. They have, in fact, become a powerhouse of the East. Moreover, DeRozan has enjoyed a turnaround season as compared to his stint in San Antonio. Furthermore, he has come alive in the 4th quarter for the Bulls whenever the game is on the line.

However, in the Bulls‘ latest matchup, DeRozan would actually exit the game. As the game wired down, DeRozan drove through the lane attempting a layup, only for the Grizzlies to gain back possession. Following this, DeRozan had a scuffle with the referee, claiming that he fouled. Thereafter, he was ejected from the game and the Bulls lost. This sent shock waves through Twitter as fans stated their points of view.

Twitter Reacts to DeMar DeRozan
Many fans believed that a foul should have been called on DeRozan as he drove into the lane. They even argued that the referee should have at least called a jump ball after the play.

On the other hand, many argued that it was a piece of great defense by the Grizzlies. In fact, they even used a top-angle view of the play to show that Kyle Anderson had his hand completely on the ball and that it was a clean block.
he’s been money, so he probably feels like he should get that call — but there was absolutely no foul there lol. great defense

Clearly, DeRozan felt like he was fouled and argued with the referee. With just 5 seconds left on the clock, he would receive his second technical foul of the game and get ejected. Maybe if the referee called a foul on that play, we’d have seen a different ending. Regardless, the Bulls will hope to bounce back in their next game.

DeRozan and the Bulls This Season
Despite having lost the game, the Bulls sit second in the East with 39 wins. They still remain a threat to any team that they match up against. However, they will hope to not have any more injuries, especially since they have already lost out on Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso. Health, apart from winning games, seems to be of top priority.

Focusing on DeRozan, the veteran star has enjoyed a turnaround season so far. And what a major turnaround it has been for him! He is in the MVP race this season and earned his first All-Star selection after three years. Although he had a poor shooting performance against the Grizzlies, DeRozan has averaged 28.3 points per game while shooting nearly 52% from the field. As the season moves forward, DeRozan will hope to lead the Bulls to more success and hopefully, bring a title to Chicago.
