The weekend kicked off with the NBA All-Star celebrity contest featuring celebs from around the world. Then it was rising stars challenge which was held in a new format. Four Hall of Fame players were chosen as coaches and they drafted four teams to compete in a mini-tournament. Then it was the Skills challenge which was won by the hometown team, Team Cavs.
It was followed by the 3 point shooting contest. Karl Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves was the surprise winner of the contest. KAT became the first and only center to win the shooting contest and this just shows how the league has changed in the last few years. Then it was time for the dunk contest which was won by Obi Toppin. But the dunk contest failed to live up to its past hype and fans were left disappointed. They will hope for a better show at the All-star game featuring the best players from the league.
