Charles Barkley has earned quite the reputation as a TV analyst during his time at TNT’s ‘Inside the NBA.’ A formidable player during his playing days, one could argue that Charles has gone on to do more as an analyst than a player. A 4-time Sports Emmy winner Sir Charles has seamlessly transitioned into life as a reporter holding quite the resume.

In 2019, Chuck alongside Ernie Johnson Jr. decided to take their talents from the broadcasting world to the podcasting one. The duo released a podcast named ‘The Steam Room’. During a recent episode of the podcast E.J was left perplexed when Charles revealed why he loves the name ‘Sydney.’

Not that he is having a baby, but Chuck still discussed the proposition when he suggested, “I have always said if I ever had another girl, I was going to name her Sydney.” Revealing his love for the name during an episode of the podcast, Charles mentioned it after a fan by the name of Sydney called to ask Barkley what song he would like to play on the piano.

Refusing to cause a stir Charles did mention his daughter Christina even shouting her out. Although that didn’t make a difference when Bernie asked him how he settled on that name in the first place. Revealing to Ernie, he stated. “Well, she’s named after a mall in fairness. There’s a Christina Mall in Delaware that I used to always go by and that’s how she got her name Christina.”

The comment from Barkley left his 66-year-old colleague stumped prompting him to call Charles a mess. In a hilarious exchange between the two analysts, the moment went on to show the chemistry the two brought. Not knowing how his infatuation for the name Sydney came about Charles refused to give an unnecessary explanation stating. “I am not exactly sure I do not want to make stuff up.”

So, what song would Charles play on the piano?

The name ‘Sydney’ digressed the two hosts way away from the question of what song would Charles play on the piano? Charles emphasized that he would not know how to get around the piano and what songs he would play but did point out one particular song.

Relaying his answer Charles responded, “I am arguably the greatest living Karaoke singer ever and I always sing Frank Sinatra, so it’d probably be one of his songs.”
