Shaquille O’Neal has a variety of interests apart from the game of basketball. And F1 races are one of them. O’Neal is often seen sitting courtside during NBA games. But he also enjoys watching F1 races and rooting for his favorite motorsports racing as well. But who is Shaq’s favorite F1 driver you ask?

O’Neal already had his pick for the win

While on the show, ‘The Big Podcast With Shaq,’ O’Neal talked about how he wanted Hamilton to win in the race he attended in Abu Dhabi. This was after O’Neal dropped a bomb about buying a property in Abu Dhabi.

While talking to Nischelle Turner and Spice Adams, O’Neal said, “I also went to see the F1 event. I was hoping my main man Lewis Hamilton would get a win. But some other guy won and there were a lot of celebrities I got to hang out with. Martin Lawrence, Steve Harvey, Ray Lewis, Ron Artest.”

Now even though Shaquille O’Neal was rooting for Lewis Hamilton, many may not know that this was probably Sebastian Vettel’s last race. Sebastian Vettel is a German racing car driver who started his career competing in Formula 1 with BMW as a test driver.

He then went on to sign with Red Bull where he won four titles consecutively. That feat made him the youngest World Drivers’ Champion in the history of the sport. And recently, Vettel announced his retirement from Formula 1.

So, while everyone may have been hoping Vettel to go out with a bang, O’Neal continued to back his favorite. However, neither of the two won the race. Hamilton retired from the race whereas Vettel finished at number 10.
