Ex-Wife Shaunie, Who Once Destroyed Shaquille O’Neal’s Car, Breaks Silence on Their Current Equation

The sports world is no newcomer to divorce or downward spirals of romantic relationships. However, the news of Shaquille O’Neal and Shaunie Henderson’s divorce left the world shocked. Shaq is always known to be a family man. However, Shaq had made a mistake, a mistake that led to the failure of his marriage.

Years later, the duo is happy with their lives. Henderson has moved on. But the consequences of being associated with Shaq continue to follow her. With that said, in an interview recently, Henderson spoke about her current equation with Shaq.

While this was a piece of gossip for many, for Shaq and Henderson, it was a life alternating decision and experience. It has been 12 years since this debacle and Shaunie Henderson recently opened up about where the two stand.

In Henderson’s words, they are cool now. She said, “We’ve been co-parenting for 12 years and we had to get to some space where we were able to communicate and remain friends.” 

She also mentioned that Shaq and she don’t communicate every day. Despite this, there is an air of mutual respect and they are happy for each other.

Shaunie destroyed Shaq’s car

In an episode of Basketball Wives, Henderson opened up about the day she found out about Shaq’s infidelity. She claimed that there was a switch between their Blackberry phones. Since the model of the phone was similar, Henderson had Shaq’s phone instead of hers. Following this, she realized that the phone she had on her kept pinging notifications.

When she checked the phone, she realized that it was her husband Shaq’s device. She noticed that messages from other girls that Shaq had been with filled up the inbox. Infused with anger, Henderson rushed to the arena. She said, “I went in that garage, not only did I flatten tires, bust a few windows, I wrote on the hood of his car, ‘I cheat on my wife. I ain’t sh*t’ with a knife.”

Shaq’s entire car was destroyed and covered with writings that hinted at his infidelity. Henderson wanted everyone to know what Shaq had done. The ex-couple has come a long way since this incident. Most importantly, they are happy for each other and are around for their children.
