Former Cleveland Cavaliers star Richard Jefferson gave rise to a new meme on Live TV after the Wednesday night Playoffs games. Jefferson and his former teammate, Kendrick Perkins, engaged in a debate over a ‘complete NBA team’ on ESPN. When Perkins disagreed with Jefferson’s take and asked him to define ‘complete team’, the Cavaliers star stepped in and dug himself a grave. 

The 42-year-old replied, “Again, we’re splitting hairs here,” and Perkins was quick enough to respond, “You’re not splitting hairs ever,” referring to his bald head, and broke into laughter. Meanwhile, Jefferson looked stunned and expressionless for a few seconds. 

In response to the hilarious moment, social media quickly made it a meme sensation by sharing it all over the platform. This, in turn, led the ex-NBA star to reach out to Elon Musk for help.

Jefferson shared a news article discussing the hilarious moment on his Twitter and wrote, “Hey ⁦ @elonmusk ⁩ who do I contact to get this scrubbed off this app?”

This isn’t the first time where the player-turned-analyst found himself in a hilarious situation. Notably, he engaged in another funny situation with Perkins on ESPN. Moreover, fans regard him as one of the funniest former NBA stars, especially after his Instagram podcast series on locker-room scenes.

Several seasons ago, the conversation between the Denver Nuggets star Jamal Murray with Jefferson after the game ended up causing a laugh riot. The conversation heated up when Murray failed to recognize Jefferson’s voice and ended up raising questions against each other, leaving the audience in disbelief.
