Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant has had a long history of dating women. One of the most famous relationships back in the day was between Durant and Monica Wright, the former basketball player.
The two were on their way to a happy married life. However, destiny had other plans. Their engagement was called off and the two split up.
Talking in an interview, Wright reflected upon her relationship with KD and how she was criticized for her faith. She said, “Yeah, in my last relationship [with NBA All-Star Kevin Durant], I had to make a decision about compromising myself as a woman. I had to make a decision to leave a relationship, which a lot of people thought I was crazy to leave. There was a lot of criticism over it. But I think God had my back in it.“

Although their relationship might have ended on a bad note, the two were pretty serious regarding their future. While Durant went on to win the MVP award with the Oklahoma City Thunder, he also announced his engagement with Wright.

However, the two broke up shortly. Durant revealed the reason behind why he ended his relationship with the former WNBA star.

According to him, he did not have any idea on how to love her. Talking to GQ, he revealed all the details. Durant said, “I had a fiancée, but…I really didn’t know how to, like, love her, you know what I’m saying? We just went our separate ways.”Although he has dated a lot of women after his infamous breakup, Durant is not yet engaged with anyone currently.
