Brooklyn Nets star Ben Simmons has had a really bad start to the NBA season so far. After issues with the Philadelphia 76ers, the former Rookie of the Year joined superstars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving in Brooklyn. However, he did not play a single minute last season. Despite multiple reports claiming he could be back to help the Nets avoid elimination in the first round of the playoffs against the Boston Celtics, he did not suit up. The Celtics swept the Nets comfortably.

So Simmons received a lot of backlash for not playing to help the Nets. During the offseason, there were rumors about Durant and Irving leaving the Nets. However, that has not happened and the superstars are staying in Brooklyn. So there was a huge expectation from the fans to witness the big three of Durant, Irving, and Simmons play together for the first time.

Unfortunately, it has not looked good so far. In their first game of the season, the Nets faced the New Orleans Pelicans. Simmons did not even play the full game as he was fouled out. Interestingly, he had more fouls than points. He scored 4 points with 5 assists and 5 rebounds in 23 minutes.

The fans were clearly not happy with the performance of Ben Simmons in the first game as the Nets lost the game. Many made fun of his 6 fouls and 4 points stat line on social media. In the Nets’ third game of the season against the Memphis Grizzlies, Simmons fouled out again. The Nets lost that game as well. In the first three games, he had 17 points and 14 personal fouls.

In their last game against the Dallas Mavericks, Simmons air-balled a layup. And it instantly went viral. While rival fans were making fun of the clip, Nets’ fans were in disbelief and outrage. Rapper Cam’ron was one among them who went to the game. And he was livid with the missed layup.

Cam’ron ranted, “If you don’t wanna f*****g play basketball, go and f**k with the Kardashians, the Jenners, whoever the f**k you with. Now you watch it on TV, you know, ‘Oh, it’s all good.’ I went to the f*****g game last night, and I watched you shoot a airball layup. Stop playing with my n*****s.”?

Kendall Jenner and Simmons started dating in 2018 and it has been on and off ever since before ending in 2020.

The rapper is not the only one to show their outrage about Simmons. Also, former superstars and analysts talked about his performance as well. However, Irving showed support for his teammate during the post-game press conference and reminded everyone Simmons has not played in the past two years.
