Moreover, his mother, Sonya Curry was a college basketball & volleyball athlete and is a promising educator. She released her book ‘Fierce Love’ in May 2022. Sonya revealed in an interview a few months ago that Stephen blamed her even after two decades for not letting him play a basketball game.
During the interview, Sonya Curry shared that her faith had helped her raise her family in the right way while talking about her book. In fact, she detailed the ups and downs of being a parent and the fierceness required to fulfill motherly responsibilities every single day.?

Mother Sonya taught Stephen Curry a valuable lesson?
During the interview, the host pointed out that Sonya described herself as a strict mother and there was an instance when she did not allow Stephen Curry to play a basketball game.
Sonya curry said,?“Well, he didn’t come in for curfew and he kinda walked in, like what, what’s up? And I’m thinking…”
“I’m about to show you,” she added jokingly.
That day, Sonya did not allow Steph to be present for his basketball game for breaking the rules of her house.? She wanted to teach him a lesson about the consequences of his actions in life.?

Sonya shared that her decision did make her doubt herself. But, she still went ahead to teach Steph the meaning of following through. She revealed that even after two decades Steph still blames her. He says that he did not get recruited the way he would have liked by more elite schools because he was not a part of that particular tournament.
Sonya’s teaching helped Steph Curry achieve greatness
Despite the occasional taunts from the four-time NBA champ, Sonya Curry managed to raise her kids right.? She helped them reach the greatest heights of success. Hence, Steph learned his lessons the hard way. He might have missed an opportunity that day, but the lessons he learned led him to where he is today.
