After asserting his dominance on the hardwood, the ‘Greek Freak’ Giannis Antetokounmpo recently collaborated with the popular online game Fortnite. Moreover, Fortnite and the NBA have a long-standing collaboration as several NBA teams and stars have been featured in the Battle Royale. Following the Los Angeles Lakers‘ great LeBron James‘ appearance in the game, Antetokounmpo impressed fans in the online game with a massive update.

In mid-2022, Fortnite teased its fans with Antetokounmpo’s skin for the December update. However, the 2x MVP had kept the secret to himself until he revealed it earlier to his fans on Twitter.

The Milwaukee Bucks star took to Twitter and posted a video update with a quote that said, “Last night, I had the craziest dream...”. The video featured himself in a dual avatar confirming his Fortnite skin.

NBA fans were not only anticipating his skin but also the cosmetics designed for the skin. Some of the cosmetics include Diamond Doru Pickaxe, Dunk Buckler Back Bling, Ankara Print Wrap, and many more. Fans went gaga over the announcement online, as one fan said, “Me getting ready to throw the most deadly punch combo when I see a kid call him ‘the guy from fortnite'”.

NBA-Fortnite collaboration

During the 2021 NBA post-season, Fortnite teamed up with the NBA to form ‘FortniteXNBA: The Crossover’. Fortnite fans were able to equip all 30 teams’ outfits. According to an ESPN report, the NBA and Fortnite were in discussions for continued collaboration. Fortnite also collaborated with another major US sports league, the NFL in 2018.
