The Golden State Warriors defeated the Dallas Mavericks in their last matchup controversially. A game that was eventually won by a two-point difference, despite the Mavericks playing without Kyrie Irving, came down to one play. Or better yet, one no-call by the officials that tipped the game in favor of Golden State, leading Mavericks owner Mark Cuban to go on a rant against the officials on social media.

The game featured some lousy officiating from the referees on the floor. At least, that is what billionaire owner Mark Cuban claimed as he went off against the officials who apparently failed to do their job right.

During the third quarter of the game, the Warriors received the easiest two points of the night. No Mavericks player was even nearby as Jordan Poole inbounded the ball to Kevon Looney for an easy two-hand slam.

Mark Cuban made sure to set the record straight on Twitter by giving an explanation along with some of his feelings. Cuban tweeted, ?For those wondering about the play with 1:54 to go on the 3rd, let me explain what happened. The ref called Mavs ball. The announcer announced it.?

?Then there was a timeout. During the time out the official changed the call and never told us. Then when they saw us line up as if it were our ball, he just gave the ball to the warriors. Never said a word to us.??

?They got an easy basketball. Crazy that it would matter in a 2 point game. Worst officiating non call mistake possibly in the history of the NBA. All they had to do was tell us and they didn’t.?

A disappointing loss for Luka Doncic and the Mavericks

Despite an amazing performance from Luka Doncic and the Mavericks bench, Dallas could not fight off Stephen Curry and Golden State. And it surely may have been those two free points given to the Warriors in the third quarter.

According to bay area reporter Dalton Johnson, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said, ?I guess they assumed it was their ball,? while referring to the free two points that the Warriors received in the third.

Now, according to a report by Shams Charania, ?The Dallas Mavericks plan to file to the NBA a formal protest of their 127-125 loss to the Golden State Warriors tonight, with focus on alleged referee mistake that led to two free Warriors points late in the third quarter.?
