“End Up Killing Us”: Michael Jordan Sneakers Enraged Kobe Bryant Into “Tearing Our A** Up”, says Bulls Superstar DeMar DeRozan

Los Angeles Lakers icon Kobe Bryant not just inspired millions of people worldwide, but his fellow NBA superstars as well. Jaw-dropping stories about the Black Mamba never seem to come to an end. In the latest episode of the ‘Podcast P with Paul George‘, Chicago Bulls star DeMar DeRozan shared a wild incident he had with the Los Angeles Lakers legend. It’s no doubt that Bryant wasn’t really fond of the Jordan sneakers. However, it looks like the 5-time NBA champion took it to the next level by giving the ex-Raptors guard a lesson for wearing a pair of Jordans.?

DeRozan also revealed why he never wore another pair of the sensational sneakers as the Clippers star laughed in denial. George and DeRozan have often stated Kobe’s influence on them and how they try their best to carry his legacy forward.

Kobe Bryant didn’t take DeMar DeRozan wearing Jordans lightly

Michael Jordan was Bryant’s biggest idol. However, the 5x NBA champion made sure he got the better of His Airness whenever they faced each other. That boils down to his competitive spirit, which was also inspired by MJ. Bryant made sure to give a tough time to his opponents to gain a mental edge. And that’s exactly what he did to DeRozan, who usually wears Kobe’s sneakers, for strutting onto the floor in Jordans.

The incident happened when the 6-time All-Star faced Kobe Bryant and the Lakers during his time with the Toronto Raptors. Coming to the game wearing a pair of Jordan 10s, DeRozan knew he made a mistake when Bryant activated the ‘Mamba Mentality’. DeRozan shared in the podcast, “We walked out on the court and he looked at me and said, ‘The f*** you got on your feet’. He shook his head at me. End up killing us.”

The Chicago Bulls forward added, “He ended up tearing our a** up. I remember he hit the game-winning shot. But before the game-winning shot, they called a timeout. He walked past and said, ‘you know y’all left me too much time, right?’ Walking off the court he says ‘Don’t wear them s***s ever again.'”

DeMar DeRozan was warned by Vince Carter

Previously in the podcast, DeRozan revealed,?“It was a time I played against Vince Carter. Early in my career, he was like, ‘Man you wear those when you play vs Kobe?'” Even after the warning, DeRozan went on to wear a pair of Jordans. However, he later received a lesson from the Black Mamba for ignoring Carter’s warning.
