The 48-year-old rapper even left LeBron James and Chris Paul stunned after revealing the story about Stephen Curry.

Heartbroken after the news of Kobe Bryant’s retirement back in 2016, this rapper revealed what The Black Mamba said to him when asked who he should follow in the NBA after his exit from the league. And Bryant’s prediction certainly bore fruit.

Kobe Bryant predicted Stephen Curry’s rise to fame

American rapper Killer Mike made an appearance on the season finale of The Shop: Uninterrupted. He was joined by veteran point guard Chris Paul, Lakeith Stanfield, Tyronn Lue, Paul Rivera, and Maverick Carter. Killer Mike went on to share a story about one of his interactions with Kobe Bryant around the time of his retirement. He asked Bryant who he should look to follow. And he said, “I’m going to tell you. It’s this kid if he can stay healthy because he’s skinny.'”

Mike added, “He was thin, real thin. I used to wonder like how the f**k you be doing that on court? You look like a god on court. It look like I could take you on a street fight.” Here he was referring to Curry’s build and how he could beat him in a hypothetical fistfight in the streets.

Mike added, “He was like, ‘Man, it’s this kid. I’m watching him. But I think he’s the one you should follow.'” The 48-year-old rapper went on to ask Bryant who he was talking about. That is when the Los Angeles Lakers legend told him, ‘”He’s this kid named Steph Curry.’ And that’s when I started watching Steph and Golden State.”

So, there was no doubt in the fact that Kobe had an eye for detail, long before anyone else saw it bear fruit.

As the video went on, Mike drew comparisons between Kobe Bryant and Hercules. He described how Kobe eventually realized that he wasn’t Michael Jordan. But what Mike found admirable was that he had the desire to defeat his idol.
