Emotional Magic Johnson Reveals Kobe Bryant’s Plans Had He Been Alive

The world undoubtedly lost one of its fine gems too early, in the form of Kobe Bryant. In early 2020, Kobe and several others lost their lives in a terrible aero-crash. One of the finest players of his time, the piece of news sent shock waves across the basketball fraternity. And as revealed by fellow NBA legend Magic Johnson, the 18-time All-Star had big plans in the years to come. But it wasn’t meant to be.

When we talk about the NBA, we think of its most successful franchises, such as the Lakers. Speaking of the Lakers, their rich history wouldn’t be complete without the name of Kobe Bryant. Breaking almost every record in the book, ‘Mamba’ won 5 championships and a plethora of individual accolades during his time.

Post retirement, the iconic guard-forward had big aspirations. Wanting to emulate the likes of Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson himself, things fell to an unfortunate end.

Magic Johnson reveals what Kobe Bryant wanted before untimely demise

Both important parts of the Lakers organisation, Magic Johnson and Kobe Bryant won 10 titles together. Post retirement, Magic and Jordan are said to have had the best business stints. And Kobe, who lost his life in early 2020, reportedly wanted to lead a life like the duo. Asked about whether he found peace after Bryant’s death, Magic had a lot to say.

“You’ll never really find peace,” said the 12-time All-Star. “Especially being a part of the Laker organization. He sat me down after he retired. He wanted to meet with me and he said, ‘I just want to be like you and Michael, that’s it.’ That is, he’s talking about after his career. He said, ‘What you and Michael have done after your career, I’m patterning my company and what I’m doing after you guys.’”

Such memories only make us remember the great Kobe Bryant more. Unfortunately, he couldn’t live out his life the way he wanted. Yet, his success is eternal!
