Kyrie Irving is an NBA veteran. The 30-year-old point guard is playing in his 11th season and actually averages the most this year. The Brooklyn Nets have awaited his return from the injury in the middle of the season. But now he is back, and it seems like he is back at his best.

Growing up, aspiring to be a professional basketball player, Kyrie Irving was a big Jason Kidd fan, like many others. From 2001 to 2007, Nets were always a championship contending side. They played consecutive NBA finals in 2002 and 2003. However, after Jason Kidd left the Nets, the times were hard. The team struggled, and they obviously were not the same, involving the transition from New Jersey to Brooklyn. Among many others, Kyrie had a hard time seeing his favorite team struggling.

When the world was hit by an unexpected pandemic, we were forced to stay home and avoid contact with other people. The world hit the pause button, and just like us, all the stars also were confined to their places. When the first lockdown took place back at the end of March 2020, Kyrie used to do Instagram lives with his high school friend Jeremiah Green. In one of those lives, Kyrie remembered the days he saw the Nets post Jason Kidd era.

“Being a struggling Nets fan at one point, oh my goodness bro,” Irving said. “All my Jersey people know, before the Nets went to Brooklyn, trying to fill that Continental Airlines Arena up. They were selling three-game packages for like $90!”

It was a difficult time for the Nets franchise. Making the change from New Jersey to Brooklyn took a toll on both the team and the fans. It was not the first time these transitions had happened for a particular franchise. Even for the Nets franchise, there had been times when they had to go through major changes. But during the recent time and amidst modern basketball, it was much more excruciating. Kyrie always shows his passion for his team and his game because he feels connected to the Nets.
