Emotional Charles Barkley Mourns 2 Big Losses to the Hollywood and NBA Fraternity: “Was Just a Good Dude and Gonna Be Missed”

For any athlete having a spare moment to themselves is almost impossible. The spotlight often shines on their head. In the 1900s, Charles Barkley was one of the most popular. Unfortunately, he had a bad habit of getting into trouble. From public instances to outspoken rants, the Hall of Famer had tendencies to go out of control. On the other hand, he was one of the best at the sport. And in his life, he encountered people who helped him in either aspect of his life.

One was Howard Bregman. A famous publicist, he managed the crisis. But that was the least of his efforts. Bregman was an advocate for the homosexual. He helped out with several of the most famous names. This includes the likes of ‘Bewitched’ star Dick Sargent and even Meredith Dexter. The second was former San Antonio Spurs owner, Red McCombs. The billionaire played a huge part in making the NBA what it is today. In addition, the media mogul for more than just an owner.

Unfortunately, in a span of merely one week, the world lost them both. During Steam Room’s late episode, Barkley made sure to pay his respects.

While on Steam Room, the 1992 Dream Team member had a couple of condolences to pay. He began with Bregman. The TNT analyst said he first met the publicist a few years ago. They became friends and even kept in contact. On February 15th, Leukemia took away the soul from the world. Remembering the 66-year-old, Barkley shared some kind words for him.

During the Steam Room podcast, the former MVP said, “I met him, and the man he was fabulous. Me and my agent spent some time with him, shoutout to Makr my agent. I just wanted to acknowledge his past. Was just a good dude and gonna be missed.”

He, later on, spoke about McComb. Notably, the 60-year-old narrated an incident during his days on the court. Then owner of the Spurs, McCombs reached out to Chuck only to compliment his greatness.

Howard Bregman was a man of many achievements. He is a best-selling author for his book “Where’s My Fifteen Minutes: Get Your Company, Your Cause or Yourself the Recognition You Deserve”. Being gay himself, he stood as an advocate for many. Inside the NBA, he worked with John Amaechi who came out in 2007. He taught public relations for five years. In addition, he also founded several firms such as La Brea Media and Fifteen Minutes PR.

McCombs made his living beginning as a car salesman. He would later ascend to billionaire status. In addition, Adam Silver even called him the driving force behind the modern NBA. He played a critical role in relocating the Spurs and also getting them into the NBA. He has known for his ahead-of-time vision as an entrepreneur. Four days ago, the Texas entrepreneur passed away at the age of 95.
