Cookie Johnson, wife of Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson turned 64 recently. With happy birthday messages pouring in from around the world, Magic made sure his wish stands out. The former NBA champion posted a series of special and wholesome photos with a message for Cookie. Posting to Twitter, where he has garnered more than 5 million followers, Johnson made sure to let his true feelings be known in the message.

The former NBA champion penned down a huge message and talked about how lucky he is to have her. Additionally, he also acknowledged Cookie’s invaluable support throughout their time together.

Emotional Magic Johnson posts a special birthday wish for his wife

Back in 1991, Magic Johnson was on cloud nine. He had just married Cookie, and he was a renowned basketball star. However, it all came crashing down when Magic was diagnosed with HIV. Cookie played a huge role in helping her husband get through and survive that difficult patch.

Cookie turned 64 recently and thousands of birthday messages flooded in from across the world. However, her husband’s birthday wish certainly stands out.

Posting on Twitter, Johnson wrote, “Another trip around the sun for my incredible wife, life partner, and best friend, Cookie Johnson! Baby, every year with you is a blessing. You have elevated my life in ways I couldn’t imagine from the day that I met you. Thank you for motivating me, pushing me to my fullest potential, & being the best sounding board I could ever ask for.”

Johnson acknowledged her for bringing out his best version while quoting a verse from the bible. Interestingly, he also called his wife the best gift he has ever received from god.

Cookie Johnson played a huge role when Magic was suffering

When Magic was diagnosed with HIV, it was considered a death sentence. However, thanks to advancements in medicine, Johnson’s perseverance, and his wife and family’s efforts, the five-time NBA champion is living a happy and healthy life.

Johnson once credited his wife for his survival. He said, “If she had left me, I wouldn’t be here today.” Not only her husband’s life, but Cookie has also made efforts to change other people’s lives. Along with Magic, she started the Magic Johnson Foundation to spread awareness about HIV.
