NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal retired from basketball almost 12 years ago, but he still manages to make headlines. His career as an analyst for TNT has definitely left him with some time to do activities that he considers ‘fun’ and ‘enjoyable’. It’s not necessary, though, that ‘fun’ and ‘enjoyable’ always translate to ‘safe’. It was only a few days ago when fans belittled Shaq for a dangerous activity he had engaged in. The 4x NBA champion, however, doesn’t seem to have paid attention and promoted a similar practice on social media recently.

The Los Angeles Lakers legend shares inspiring videos on Instagram regularly. Not only that, O’Neal has a tendency to share clips of people doing ‘cool’ things. However, the latest reel shared by the 7’1 star could land him in trouble.

Almost three weeks ago, the Big Diesel posted a video on his Instagram feed. It has been viewed by 1.1 Million users as of now. The post featured the former player and a couple of his friends riding down the streets on their motorcycles. The post also featured a song by American singer Janelle Monáe as its background audio.

While the activity looked like fun from afar, fans of the former Los Angeles Lakers player didn’t wait too long to state their concerns in the comment section. Most of the comments, including the one by Internet personality Pubby Longway, had people requesting Shaq to wear a helmet or any kind of protective gear. One fan requested him to wear a helmet, stating that people are watching him and are prone to mimicking his actions. However, doesn’t seem like he paid heed.

A few hours ago, Shaq once again took to Instagram and posted a reel on his story. The reel was made by an Instagram handle named ‘custom__motorcycle’. It showed a man riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle through the streets while vibing to the music.

Even if the former player’s intention was to show the carefree and enjoyable attitude of the biker, it didn’t help that he was riding without a helmet or any kind of protective gear. Add the fact that the man in the video took a little too long to put his bike stand up. The video does not promote safe practices that one should keep in mind when driving a motorcycle.

While there is no way of knowing the reaction of people to Shaq’s Instagram story, it is safe to assume that they would be upset with the fact that Shaq is endorsing a dangerous practice, either knowingly or unknowingly.

Shaq’s love for bikes, cars, and other vehicles is a well-known fact among his fans. Given that he is 7’1 tall, most of the vehicles he drives are custom-made, some in his very own garage. What are your thoughts on the video shared by Shaq on his stories? Let us know in the comments.
