When the New Orleans Pelicans drafted Zion Williamson with the first pick in the 2019 NBA draft, nobody would have thought that he will lock horns with injuries more often than locking horns with his opponents. After missing out the entire season last year on the back of an injury, Williamson geared up for the current season with high hopes. However, he got hit by another injury and missed out on the majority of the season. For quite some time, the 22-year-old’s uncanny tryst with injuries has prompted the hoops world to call him out. An $8 million rich Hollywood star, famous for his takes on LeBron James, has now given his take on Zion Williamson‘s injuries.
Michael Rapaport has now joined the long list of Zion Williamson’s critics. While vehemently calling out the Pelicans star, Rapaport has dragged in other NBA players like LeBron James and Ben Simmons into the conversation as well.

Zion Williamson’s injuries have become a favorite topic of every other bunch of analysts in the hoops world. Apparently, the topic found a place in the recent episode of the Undisputed podcast. Michael Rapaport, who appeared as the guest, was bestowed with the chance to weigh in on the 2019 number-one overall pick. Rapaport mercilessly called out the 22-year-old and some of his gestures.
The movie star pointed out that Williamson’s endeavors, like warming up in public and participating in dunk contests amid crowds, in spite of not showing up for a game, are quite unbecoming of an NBA player. Besides, Rapaport added that it is high time, Williamson sought the advice of somebody like LeBron. “I think Zion needs to call up LeBron James. I think he needs to call up some people and get some better sort of, you know, advice. Because I think he’s like a precious little doll that stays in a little glass house,” said Michael Rapaport.
The millionaire actor did not stop with LeBron. He dragged Brooklyn Nets star Ben Simmons into the conversation as well. “He is heading into the Ben Simmons category and I believe Ben Simmons has played more games in the last four years than Zion Williamson,” added Rapaport, alluding to the constant injuries that befall both Simmons and Williamson.

Apart from Zion Williamson, Ben Simmons, too, has had an inseparable bond with injuries. NBA veterans, including Shaquille O’Neal, had called out the Nets star for missing out on crucial games. After back-to-back injuries hit Simmons in February and March, the Nets had to shut him down for the remainder of the season. Hence, on the back of some lackluster performances and constant injuries, Ben Simmons has been the butt of many crude jokes for quite some time.
Now, Michael Rapaport has made a whole new category out of Ben Simmons’ tragic plight to enlist any player who has been holding on to a no-show job. Anyhow, Zion Williamson, who has joined the ‘Ben Simmons category,’ will have to wait for this season to pass. Only then can he give a reply to his critics as the Pelicans blew their playoff hopes in the play-in game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
