Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, and Carmelo Anthony were all part of the same draft class in 2003. Many analysts called this draft class the best ever, just because of the talent that came into the league that year.
Wade, LeBron, and Carmelo were very good friends off the court and fierce rivals on it (although Bron & Melo are now teammates while Wade has retired). All of them, along with Chris Paul, have been close friends for a long time and they are called the ‘Banana Boat Squad’.

Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, and Carmelo Anthony: The Class of 2003
Dwyane Wade was picked fifth overall in the draft by the Miami Heat, where he spent most his career. Wade won a championship with Shaq in 2006 and he was named the finals MVP. He was among the best players in the league and nicknamed The Flash due to his incredible speed.
Later in his career, he teamed up with LeBron James and Chris Bosh to win two more titles with the Heat. He retired at the end of the 2019 season, bringing an end to an illustrious career.
The Cleveland Cavaliers picked LeBron James first overall in the draft. He quickly became the face of the league and won multiple MVP awards in his first stint with the Cavs. Later, he formed with Big 3 in Miami, where he won his first championship and also added a couple more MVP awards.

Subsequently, he returned to the Cavs, where he won the first championship in franchise history and ended the city’s 52-year drought. The L-Train then joined the Lakers, and won the championship in 2020, ending the franchise’s 10-year drought. LeBron James is currently playing in his 19th year and he shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
Carmelo Anthony was selected third overall in the same draft class by the Denver Nuggets. He led them to the playoff every year he played for them. Melo quickly established himself as one of the premier scorers in the league. Later, he was traded to the New York Knicks in 2011, where he enjoyed a few successful years. Currently, he plies his trade with the Lakers, with LeBron as his teammate. While the championship has eluded Melo, he is known as one of the greatest players of all time and he is one of the best scorers ever.
