In his interview with Shannon Sharpe, the Miami Heat legend opens up about the consequences of his marriage on his bond with some of his closest friends.

Wade was pretty close to his friends. But post-marriage, the happy couple limited the “close” interaction to maintain the couple’s intimacy in the house. This meant Dwayne’s friends could no longer just barge in the door, walk around, eat their food, and sleep on their couch.

Wade says, “She’s like, ‘Yo, he can’t be sleeping on the couch. Your homeboy can’t have the key because that’s how it is.” He reveals that his marriage prompted him to reevaluate his relationship with his close friends. He came to realize that he could not take care of his friends full-time since he now has a family to look out for.

Now since his friends did not have the same level of freedom after Wade’s marriage, he mentions his friends were ‘forced’ out by Gabrielle Union. But, the thought does not come with any regrets. In fact, his marriage is the primary reason he matured and grew up, and accepted the changing dynamics of his life. Wade also addresses how the couple splits everything 50/50.

Dwayne’s marriage to Gabrielle began with a legal document. Yes! Dwyane Wade on Club Shay Shay talks about signing a prenuptial agreement with his wife before their marriage.

And this isn’t all. He also emphasizes the importance of one’s assets prior to tying the knot, since both he and his wife are working hard in their respective careers.

However, there are three aspects they split everything 50-50 on. He mentions their house, their daughter, and anything to do with their daughter is shared equally among the couple. The decision to split these aspects came after Wade referred to his former Miami home as his own. This did not sit well with the successful missus.
