In the latter part of 2022, Dwight Howard appeared on the ‘Club Shay Shay’ podcast and spoke about his disappointments. First, he claimed to have felt disrespected by the NBA. The disrespect rose after he wasn’t a part of the 75th-Anniversary NBA team. He said, When I saw that I wasn’t on the list, I was really upset.” Following this, Howard revealed that the Los Angeles Lakers apparently refused to keep him on the team because they “weren’t going to give nobody over 30 a multiple-year contract.”

The disappointment of not being signed by any team in the league soon followed. With this negativity around him, Howard signed a deal with the Taoyuan Leopards in Taiwan. Now, Howard is making his voice heard – loud and clear.

The former NBA champion made his debut in the Taiwan league with a prolific performance. He bagged 38 points, 25 rebounds, and 9 assists. Some fans responded to this performance with heaps of praise. However, his performance wasn’t a hit among many. This did not leave Howard fazed though. The eight-time NBA All-Star is making the most of his time with the T1 League and boasting about his skills online.

Dwight Howard shows off his skills online

On Thursday morning, Howard took to Twitter to share a video from a practice session. The video was a compilation of clips where Howard was taking shots from all corners of the court. Furthermore, these shots were predominantly taken from behind the arc.

He paired the video with a caption where he claimed to have had the ability to shoot all this time while taking a dig at the league with a pun on the word ‘shoot’. He wrote, “I could always shoot it’s just the gun laws where I was wouldn’t let me.”

Some of the clips also showed his smooth movement around the court. Howard looked locked in and barely missed a three-pointer in the compilation video. He wore dark blue shoes with an all-black sleeveless jersey and patterned shorts in the clip. Fans rushed to reply to this tweet and received responses from Howard. One fan, in particular, left the NBA champion a little rattled.

The fan presented Howard with a question. The fan said, “There was an article I have read that you don’t want to practice your ft and jumpers in your early years. is that true?” Howard responded with a bunch of videos of him shooting and practicing.

He paired this with a caption that read, “You are talking to someone that shot and still shoots 1,000 jump shots a day. I was told not to shoot before and being the team player I am I stuck to my role.”

Howard is having the time of his life in Taiwan

Dwight Howard is certainly making the best of the opportunity presented to him. Earlier in the week, he took to Twitter again to show a video of him posing with a lion. The lion roared while Howard pet him from the back.
