Kevin Durant and James Harden have had a bitter-sweet relationship throughout their careers. The two have risen the ranks of the league to become bonafide superstars. Durant and Harden played together at two different teams, the Oklahoma City Thunder and, more recently, the Brooklyn Nets. They were rising young stars during their tenure at Oklahoma, but at Brooklyn, the two were established NBA superstars. Though in both instances, Harden left KD and took his talents elsewhere.

Kevin Durant and James Harden’s storied relationship is well documented. Both the stars have won the NBA regular season MVP and multiple All-star and All-NBA inclusions. It would be hard to imagine two MVPs on the same team now, but history tells us otherwise. The two have played together on two separate occasions.

The Oklahoma City Thunder drafted both Kevin Durant and James Harden. KD stayed with the Thunder for over five years, but after realizing his potential, the Beard left the team high and dry after just two seasons. It was not the only time Harden left KD and went to another team. The two teamed up again in Brooklyn. But after a failed playoff run and an injury-riddled season combined with the team’s chemistry issues, Harden got traded to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Ben Simmons.

The video titled?“You could be the destroyer of this league, or you could be its savior.”?features Dwayne Johnson narrating over a mix tape of Kevin Durant. The video covered the failure of the Brooklyn Nets and Kevin Durant last season.?“Your friends become foes,”?The Rock narrated this line with the backdrop of James Harden. It was a reference to the Beard leaving the Brooklyn Nets and Kevin Durant to join the Philadephia 76ers.

James Harden similarly left the Houston Rockets to join KD and Kyrie Irving two seasons ago. Many fans considered the Nets team that featured KD, Harden, and Irving as the greatest offensive team ever. All three were elite offensive players who could score 30 on any night. The Nets became title favorites following the Harden trade. But the trio underperformed in the playoffs and failed massively. Injuries, chemistry issues, and the absence of Kyrie Irving made Harden want to leave the Nets. Thus in a blockbuster trade featuring multiple stars and teams, Harden got traded to the 76ers and left KD high and dry.?
