The Golden State Warriors have been one of the most successful NBA teams in the past decade. Much of their success is credited to the well-run organization and its core of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson.
However, before the start of the 2022-23 NBA season, all hell has broken loose inside the team. Recently, Green was all over the news following an altercation with Jordan Poole.

According to reports, Green went chest to chest with Poole before punching the youngster. Moreover, a leaked video from the Warriors’ training showed the incident clearly.
Most of the reports suggest that Poole’s attitude during the training camp was the reason behind Green’s outburst. Despite all such claims, players and coaches have dismissed the claim. Green himself apologized for his actions and also asserted that he will be taking some time off from the team.
Interestingly enough, there is also a chance for Green to leave the franchise after winning four NBA titles. He has a player option for the 2023-24 season amounting to $27.6 million. Both Poole and Green are worthy of an extension before the start of the season.
In case he opts out, he can extend as late as June 30 but he will not be earning less than $27.6 million in the first year of the deal. (Source: Bleacher Report)
This opens doors for Green to check out options as an unrestricted free agent. “If they lose Dray, it’ll be because of the money more than the punch“, said an agent.
How much is Draymond Green earning currently?
The veteran power forward is one of the most important players on Stephen Curry‘s team. He has won four NBA titles with the Warriors alongside various other individual accolades like the Defensive Player of the Year award.
Draymond Green will earn around $25 million during the 2022-23 season. This amount will increase to over $27 million during the 2023-24 season.
