The Lakers have endured a horrific 2021-22 season, well below expectations. At the start of the season, things looked bright for LeBron James and Co., especially after they added Russell Westbrook. The new big three was expected to lead the Lakers to another championship. However, this has not been the case. At present, even playoffs hopes look gloomy. Following the team’s latest loss to the Dallas Mavericks, LeBron’s Lakers now sit 9th in the West.

This nosedive by the Lakers has enraged fans. They have, in fact, started booing their very own team at home. And what’s even more surprising is the fact that LeBron James has become a victim of this too, despite his strong numbers. In light of this, Warriors’ star Draymond Green spoke about the behavior of the Lakers fans and called them ‘Spoiled Brats.’

Draymond Green on LeBron James and the Booing

During a recent episode of ‘THE DRAYMOND GREEN SHOW’, Green addressed the turbulent period that the Lakers are presently going through. Considering the recent booing that the team faced from their own fans, Draymond called it ‘distasteful and disgraceful.’ He then had the following to say in light of the booing that followed after LeBron’s pass went out of bounds against the Pelicans.

“It was very distasteful from a fan base of an organization that has the most championships in the NBA. Like, let’s not be like spoiled brats,” said Green.

“That was about as bratty as something that I’ve seen. Considering that this team just won a championship not even a full two years ago. And now you’re booing? I thought it was utterly ridiculous,” he explained.

Up until now, it seems like the Lakers season has been a failure. This is especially true since there is a possibility of them finishing outside play-in tournament qualification. If they do make it to the playoffs, however, it will be a tough situation for them. LeBron will have to play a level of basketball that inspires his team and pulls them together.

It’s a tough ask for a player who is giving it all at 37 years old, but for the ‘King’ it doesn’t seem impossible. He is, after all, one of the greatest and most consistent players of all time. Whatever the case may be, it’s do-or-die time now in LA.
