Draymond Green and Ja Morant have been going at each other ever since the Golden State Warriors won the NBA championship. While it is common to see two hard-nosed, trash-talking people beefing it out on Twitter, it’s a little strange that it’s happening after Green’s Warriors beat Morant’s Memphis Grizzlies on their way to the 2022 title.

Green emphasized that point while talking about their recent ‘Twitter war’. While speaking with JJ Redick and Tommy Alter on their podcast, Dray said Ja and the rest of the Grizzlies are oblivious to the fact that the Warriors are NBA champions. He said, “it doesn’t get much more oblivious than that”.

The Grizzlies seemed to be unfazed by any opponent. According to Draymond Green, though, “a large part of the reason that they are unfazed is because they just don’t understand how big the moment is”.

Green continued, “Talking s**t to the team that won a championship after they beat you is an entirely different level of oblivion”. Dray said that since they have now established themselves in the league, teams will be wary of them. After talking so much trash, they will be expected to back it up. “For them, now, you’re gonna be expected to do that”, Green said.

The Warriors forward also mentioned that the Grizzlies will have to lose that oblivion since they are talking so much. They will need to understand how big a situation is. It is not going to be straightforward, as Dray said, “it’s not as easy when teams are coming for you”.?

The Warriors overpowered Memphis

The Memphis Grizzlies had a breakthrough year as they finished the regular season with the second-best record in the league. They are a team full of young, energetic players who love playing with each other. Their camaraderie is likely one of the main reasons for their success.

On the other hand, the Golden State Warriors are arguably one of the greatest dynasties of all time. While the two teams had a great series, the Warriors defeated the Grizzlies in six games. Ja Morant was brilliant in the first three games before sitting out the next three due to injury.

Stephen Curry was excellent in that series, as he was for the rest of the playoffs, which led to him winning his first NBA Finals MVP. The two Western Conference powerhouses seem destined to meet again in the playoffs. The first matchup between them next season is sure to be a blockbuster.
