The NBA athletes are expected to be in top shape. The constant high-intensity causes wear and tear on the body. However, the physical aspect is just one part of the game. Most think successful people don’t suffer from mental health issues. But DeMar DeRozan. And now, Los Angeles Clippers’ John Wall opened up about his struggles. Likewise, LeBron James showed his support to the veteran guard.
The pandemic proved to be a test for many athletes. But for Wall, he lost two of the most important people in his life. His mother and his grandmother both passed away in just one year. The burden seemed to weigh in on the five-time All-Star. And he hit rock bottom.

During a recent interview, Wall shared the tragic time of his life. In addition, he revealed having thoughts to take his own life.
LeBron James stands by John Wall
In an interview with Clutch Sports, Wall opened up about probably the hardest phase of his life. The Clippers guard came up with a point he wanted to end his life. The former Houston star lost his mother, Frances Pulley to cancer. Just a year later, his grandmother also died. At this time, Wall was at a low point in his career dealing with injuries. This prompted suicidal thoughts.
As it all came to the surface, LeBron James became a voice of support. The Akron Hammer assured his NBA peer he isn’t alone. James said: “And I mean always! Don’t ever question it bro. Proud of you.”
The pandemic hit the NBA family pretty badly. Minnesota Timberwolves center, Karl Anthony-Towns also suffered major losses in his family. Notably, the former number one pick lost his mother and seven other relatives. The basketball world also lost Kobe Bryant, an icon of the game.

In times of loss, being mentally strong is probably hard. Mental health has become a serious issue. However, coming out in the open has arguably sent a positive message.
