Kyrie Irving recently got into a heated debate with an NBA reporter when asked about his controversial post. Despite being one of the best performers for the Brooklyn Nets in the season so far, the NBA world doesn’t seem impressed with Irving. Following Kanye West’s controversial anti-semitic comments, the Nets guard promoted a movie on his Twitter account. The movie is based on “a book full of antisemitic disinformation”. Even the owner of the Brooklyn Nets criticized Irving for his actions.

Billionaire businessman and Brooklyn Nets owner Joe Tsai recently tweeted about the incident. The tweet said, “I?m disappointed that Kyrie appears to support a film based on a book full of anti-semitic disinformation. I want to sit down and make sure he understands this is hurtful to all of us, and as a man of faith, it is wrong to promote hate based on race, ethnicity, or religion.” He later commented on his tweet, adding:?“This is bigger than basketball.”?

On 28th October, Kyrie Irving posted a tweet promoting a movie named ‘Hebrews to Negroes: Wake Up Black America’.?The tweet soon caught traction on the internet and Irving faced a lot of backlash from the media and supporters.

In the pre-game press conference ahead of the Brooklyn Nets and the Indiana Pacers?game, Irving broke his silence on his post. Nick Friedell, who is an NBA reporter for ESPN, touched on the topic. Friedell asked about the promotion of the movie, to which Irving immediately interrupted and said, “Can you please stop calling it a promotion, what am I promoting?”
Soon the conference turned into a heated debate. Irving targeted the reporter and said,” I just put things out there just like you put things out there”.?And later added, “You put things out there for a living”.
Irving said that he can post whatever he want and asked to move on but the reporter replied saying, “It’s antisemitic.”?To which Irving responded,?“Don’t dehumanize me up here.” And he was no longer interested in answering any of the questions based on his post.

Later that night Irving dropped 35 points against the Pacers in the game, but it was not enough for the Nets as they lost 125-116. The Nets are now 1-5 for the season so far.
