Players get themselves into controversies all the time. However, what makes the NBA world more interesting are the controversial situations analysts and critics get themselves into. Analysts go hard against each other to prove any point. These controversies take a long road when there is a debate on the comparison between the two players. While everybody has their own views, others come out to criticize these views.

There will always be a controversial debate on issues like who is the greatest player, who is the greatest center, and so on. One such controversial claim comes from the ex-NBA star and ESPN analyst, JJ Redick. Redick got himself into a hard position when he made his comments about who the greatest three-point shooter of all time was.

In a debate on ESPN, JJ Redick chose the best three-point shooter between Stephen Curry and Larry Bird. Redick made a controversial choice. He said that Curry is the greatest three-point shooter ever, while Bird is among the best shooters of all time. According to Redick, the physicality that Curry faces daily is greater than what Bird used to face. While Redick was contradicted by Mad Dog on the show, what made this topic even more interesting was when Dominique Wilkins got himself involved.

Talking on SiriusXM NBA Radio, Wilkins took a jibe at the comments made by Redick. Wilkins said, “Redick don’t know what the hell he’s talking about… I’m very disappointed that he said something so stupid.” The Hall of Famer also said that more physicality claims by Redick are just naïve comments.

Wilkins went on to defend his views by saying that basketball was different back then. He further took a hit at Redick by saying that the legends had their time, and the new generation does not need to crap on the legends just to prove their point. Wilkins added, “Don’t crap on us to prove your point.”

Is one better than the other

While Redick has already chosen Curry over Bird, there were eventually others who went the opposite way. These debates are always going to stay biased on the basis of what era you were born in. Whoever might be the better, it is for sure that both are legends of the game. While Bird is a Hall of Famer and Curry surely has had a legendary career. Although the question still persists: who is the best three-point shooter?
