The Houston Rockets are in complete rebuild mode. After trading James Harden to the Nets last year, they have given the emphasis on young talent and future draft picks. They had the worst record last season, but they ended up getting 3 picks in the first round, including the number 2 pick which they used on Jalen Green.
The Rockets still have the worst record this season, but they will be very happy with the play of their rookies. Jalen Green is one of the best rookies in the class and he is showing superstar potential. Alperen ?eng?n, who was acquired in trade, has been very good. In fact, both the rookies combined for 52 points in their game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday.

NBA Twitter goes nuts after the Houston Rockets Rookies combine for 52 points
Twitter went nuts seeing the two rookies play. They were raving about the Rockets’ future and the rookies. Here are the best reactions:
When I said I want us to win next season THIS is what I mean. We were very much carried by the young guys. More of this please.
In no scenario is us winning games because Jalen & Sengun drop 25+ a night a bad thing. I do not care if it’s prime LeBron waiting in the next draft.

How does the Rockets’ future look?
After trading away James Harden and PJ Tucker, the Rockets decided to go full rebuild mode. Last year was a little hard as they still had John Wall and some veterans. But at the start of the year, they came to an agreement with Wall to not play him and this let Kevin Porter Jr start at the point guard spot.

Then they had 4 rookies, Jalen Green, Alperen ?eng?n, Usman Garuba and Josh Christopher. While Garuba has struggled, the remaining three players have had good seasons.
Jalen Green is the best of the lot, and this young kid is showing signs of a superstar. He has all the potential to be the face of the franchise. Along with him, Sengun has had a great start to his career and he can be the Rockets stretch center for the future. Porter has also shown signs of greatness and Christopher has settled in nicely with the Rockets.

The Rockets do have a couple of veterans who are taking minutes from the young core. But that can be fixed through some trades and signings. Despite being at the bottom of the league for the past two seasons, the future looks really bright for them.
