March Madness is upon us. It is that time of the year again when college basketball is at its peak, as the NCAA men’s and women’s college basketball teams take each other on in a riveting knock-out tournament. College basketball is extremely important for upcoming athletes because it gives them a big platform to showcase their talent and set the stage for the big leagues. But it is not just the athletes who wait all year for March Madness to commence, basketball fans watch the tournament in numbers to witness the future NBA stars in action. However, as it turns out, not every fan is keen on watching ‘kids’ play ball.

The NCAA bracket template for March Madness is made available to people. They place their best bets in guessing the progression and outcome of the tournament. Although it is a great way to include people in this national event of sorts, it seems to not be working for everyone. It looks like the NBA fans aren’t quite excited about the event, as they recently showed their disregard for the tournament on social media.

What is March Madness?

The NCAA college basketball tournament hosts a single-elimination tournament. It features 68 teams competing to survive three weekends of action. The final winning team is crowned the national champions. Earlier, only 64 teams were part of the field.

However, owing to the addition of “play in” games the NCAA has recently added four more teams to earn a spot in the final field of 64. That takes the total to 68 teams and more excitement for the viewers.

Selection Sunday Festivities will begin its new phase as the 2023 NCAA Tournament will kick off later this week. A fresh 68-team bracket will be announced in the upcoming edition of March Madness.

This serves as a facilitating platform for future stars of basketball, March Madness has not only came to be associated with unexpected outcomes and upsets. It has also served as a launching pad for numerous NBA stars, such as Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors and Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Although the NCAA and NBA are not exactly in competition with one another, NBA fans are showing great disregard for one of the most awaited events of the year. Regardless, it will be interesting to see what new stars are born by the end of this event.
